‘Thomas Hardy- A Man or a Novelist?’

I have sat for many nights trying to think how to approach this assignment. Looking for something new and individual but without lapsing into writing a literature essay. In conclusion I feel that the points raised have increased my awareness of the motives behind texts in general, as I now realise that it is important to use personal experiences and develop ideas on current social issues in order to gain authenticity, and that it maybe necessary to adapt the text, in order to conform with the social conventions or restrictions of the time.
