Why Torture is wrong.

Since September 11, much support for torture interrogation of terrorists has emerged within the public. This has suggested that the United States engages in more interrogation tactics, including the use of torture, when questioning terrorist suspects and illegal combatants. However, torture - which is defined as the infliction of severe physical pain as a means of punishment or coercion - by nature, is wrong. When we say a war on Terrorism: just how are we defining "…

…an animal, or an actual terrorist who imposes pain and suffering upon many, these civil rights cannot be taken away and justified by the infliction of torture. The end does not justify the means. <Tab/>The only truly effective and successful methods of dealing with correction of behavior come through compassionate communication, comprehension of social responsibility, education, restraint and discipline. Punishment simply does not, and has not and will never work.
