Who Gains and who loses from globalisation?

The UK government's Department for International Development (DfID) recently produced a white paper which defines globalisation as: 'The growing interdependence and interconnectedness of the modern world through increased flows of goods, services, capital and information. …business in the non-developed world, is not working and is unlikely to ever work. Each case needs to be specifically analysed and a programme of investment and help for local business's must be encouraged so that the country is able to industrialise and develop at it's own pace and in the direction which suits the country's particular needs the best. This will stop the debate over who gains and who loses from the globalisation process.
