Overall the experiment was a success in demonstrating the ultimate capacity of nailed and bolted connections and the modes at which they fail. The nail joint was far greater than that of the bolt joint, this was shown as the joint did not completely fail underload but instead moved away from the loading frame. The bolt connection on the other hand eventually failed.
