The treaty of Versailles was a biased treaty placing all the blame of World War I on the Germans. After the surrender of the Germans on November 11, 1918 the necessity for Europe to put the war behind them was urgent. As a result of the hastiness of the drafting of the treaty, not all the problems were solved and countries such as Germany were left with an overall feeling of resentment towards the allied forces.
