In southern and central Finland forests are regenerated at around hundred years and in northern Finland much later. About 1/3 of Finnish forests are regenerated naturally and 2/3 artificially. Natural regeneration is based on seeding from trees already growing on the site. Artificial regeneration requires their removal of all trees on the site.
