The ancient Mayans were the most advanced civilization because of their hieroglyphic system, mathematical system, astronomical calculation and observations. They introduced the modern dating system and calendar. Their understanding and prowess of the mathematical system shows their intelligence and understanding of the universe. The advancement of the Maya is one that has not yet been matched by any civilization as of yet today.
