The original lectures represented in The Evidence for Jesus by James D. G. Dunn was written in response to a television series aired by London Weekend Television entitled Jesus: The Evidence. …word "Abba". This word is a more common choice for "father" and would be used in family settings by a child addressing it parent. It is a word that carries with it a certain measure of respect and also of intimacy. The choice of "Abba" as an address of God by Jesus was obviously made because of the intimacy of the word such that it would truly reflect the close bond between Jesus and God.
