Many people today are getting tattoos, some covering extensive parts of their body; in many visible places whereas traditionally the artwork could be covered with a shirt or other article of clothing. Also popular are piercings, not just the ordinary one or two hole ear piercings, but all over a person's face, nose, cheeks, tongue, abdomen and even genitals. …should weigh the consequences of such permanent decisions on our futures. One thing parents and teens should agree on is that we both want the best for their lives. We want our kids to be happy, healthy, and have more material comforts and a better life than we had. I hope teens at least take into consideration that most parents' objections are for these reasons, before definitively deciding to have a tattoo or body piercing.
