Supreme Court Cases - Gibbons vs. Ogden

The Gibbons v. Ogden case was also known as the "steamboat case" in 1824. It occurred when New York tried to grant a private concern on a monopoly of waterborne commerce between New York and New Jersey. …other problems. I believe the court ruling in favor of Gibbons was very just. If each state in America had separate laws regulating interstate commerce, there would be much conflict that would arise. This would cause mass chaos and confusion. The federal government should regulate these businesses and set one general law or standards for all states to abide by to suppress these conflicts. It would be in everyone's best interests to avoid these problems.
