Summary of Equus

Equus Act One 1. Alan Strang embraces a horse called "Nugget". Martin Dysart, a psychiatrist, describes what he sees Alan and Nugget doing. Alan and Nugget disappear and Dysart addresses the audience, telling them about him and that he's partly feeling being a horse. Then he commences to tell a story. 2. …sex with Jill and he started to threaten her with a hoof-pick and told her to leave, and she did. 34. Alan tells Dysart that Equus can see everything what he does. Alan retells the night he stabbed out the horses eyes. 35. Dysart tells Alan that he's healed, and talks to Hesther. Dysart tells the audience that he now hears Equus voice and is now in the position of Alan (in the beginning of the play).
