Slavery as a Cause of the Civil War

…the country deadlocked when it came to deciding all issues that involved slavery. These compromises eventually led to violence, and led to extreme measures being taken by both sides. One of the extreme measures taken by the South was to secede from the union when Lincoln was elected president. This secession eventually led to the Civil War. From this, it is easy to say that slavery was the primary cause of the American Civil War.
