Should plea bargaining be abolished?

…however, justice would be even less likely to be served if it were not for plea negotiations. It treats criminals and guarantees that none go unpunished while allowing the defendants to get away with more than the maximum penalties. Even though the convictions should be harsher, the criminal justice system in Canada does what it should; those who commit wrong acts, as decided by the courts, go punished and that's all we as society want.
