Elizabeth was not good enough for Darcy in the eyes of Lady Catherine so she tried to dissuade Elizabeth from marrying Darcy. Mr. Collins showed pride in Lady Catherine de Bourgh serving as his patroness. It seems that no matter what decision a character has to make it is based on either pride or prejudice.
