…cared for because they cannot easily survive independently in the real world. Schizophrenia, is not going away, however, steps can be taken to reduce the pain of this serious mental disorder. Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder and it affects about one percent of the United States population. Hopefully my paper has educated the reader in deinstitutionalization, factors that lead to schizophrenia, the affects of schizophrenia, and methods that can be used to treat schizophrenia.
