Martin Luther: Reformer or Revolutionist?

Martin Luther had a problem with the Roman Catholic Church and his grievances against the Church arose gradually throughout his life. His main objection was over the selling of indulgences, which led to the completion of his Ninety-Five Theses. The Ninety-Five Theses was an indictment of the wrong doings of the Roman Catholic Church, particularly the widespread practice of selling indulgences in association with the sacrament of penance. …was stubborn and would not see Luther's ways. At this time period, if one spoke out against the church, they were considered to be an outsider, which is what Luther eventually became. Luther was only trying to rid the Church of it bad reputation, which would be considered a reformist idea. But since he ideas were in conflict with the Church and the fact that he was gaining support, he may well be a revolutionary.
