Love-in-idleness: Topic assigned was describe one idea that Shakespeare used on more than one level in any one of his plays.

Shakespeare used the word love-in-idleness on two different levels in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream". On the superficial level love-in-idleness is the name of the love potion that Oberon and Puck put into Titania, Lysander, and Demetrius's eyes. After this potion is administered the person who receives it falls in love with the first person that they spy upon waking. Thus the love-in-idleness has two meanings one of which is a tool which helps bring about the new, fertile society. In one couple's case it served only to provide a comic device. In two other couples love-in-idleness is awakened in them and it helps them bring down tyrants and bring about the new fertile society.
