…to feed the people. (Bruchac 136) In "Our Stories Remembered," Bruchac has compiled a collection of stories that give us insight into the history, culture and values of Native Americans. Through them we can see that the Native Americans virtues are identical in many ways to those held, but not always practiced by the Christian Europeans. It is easy to understand how the idea that Jesus was an Indian could be thought by many Native Americans.
