Israel's Hope: the Messiah.

The religion of the Old Testament fully understood the result of sin and suffering, they also recognized God's role in this. The Hebrews had desperately hoped for God to restore the world to the perfection it was first created in. …day ascend to heaven in the new order which God had intended. Out of this great hope came Jesus Christ, the direct link between the Old and New Testament. With him all the hopes of Israel were realized for he was not merely a worldly or political savior, he was the expected messiah. He also represented all 3 figures of Jewish faith; these were the Son of Man, the Suffering Servant, and the Son of David.
