…Erasmus of Rotterdam. Erasmus became his good friend and sent Holbein to England, where he became famous for portraits and drawings. One his other famous paintings is The Ambassadors. Holbein was one of the best painters and draftsman of all time. In Basel, from 1528 to 1532, Holbein continued his important work for the town council.
