This creates tragedy and interests the audience in figuring out exactly what the character's hidden intentions are and draws the audience into curiosity and excitement all the way to the end of the play. As the audience, we are driven to contemplate on ourselves and our own hidden motives behind certain actions we participate in and find out who we really are inside.
