In general, art is meant to convey the sentiments of a time, and it is obvious that these two pieces are trying to illustrate the epitome of femininity, as designated by Greek community. By using different clothing styles and body style for a young girl and a grown woman, artists have illustrated the expected role of women according to their ages in ancient Greece. And also by showing how their head was down, artists were able to describe unhappiness of the Greek women during that time period.
