the writer builds up suspense by portraying the actor's reaction to the setting as the story goes on is very effective. It is always a very good length for a short story, and gives just enough away at the end to satisfy the reader, whilst at the same time allowing them to draw their own conclusions. Overall, I enjoyed reading all three stories and thought each of them built up suspense effectively in different ways.
