…a gas grenade and one who does not manage to put on his gas mask in time, dies so revoltingly in a blood bath that one cannot forget such socking images. By creating this image I think the Author has achieved his goal also stating "the old lie: Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori" which to shows how the truth is that it is certainly not good or righteous to die for your country.
