In my opinion, Mr. Stavropolous and the DOW Company did not conform to only one style of decision-making. What developed were several types of decision-making. …and growth. To summarize the conflicts, I feel that Mr. Stavropoulos is a collective-participative type of decision maker because he likes to involve other members. But encourages his managers to be more autocratic because he needs leaders to remain in control and make decisions on the spot.
