Comparison Art Essay: Picasso vs. de Kooning

The 20th century embraced many different art movements and introduced the works of many new recognized artists. Two of these artists can be familiarized as Pablo Picasso and Willem do Kooning. Each artist demonstrated a unique style based on the demands of the time period they painted in. Although Picasso's "Jeune Fille a la Mandoline" and Willem de Kooning's "Woman I" are tow forms of abstracted cubism or expressionism, each executes its own unique sense of design and reason behind its creation. Picasso's longing to show distinct three-dimensional forms from all angles and de Kooning's longing to release emotional or sexual frustration are respectably evident in each of the artist's brilliant pieces.
