In this essay I am going to compare the poems "Composed upon Westminster Bridge, September 3,1802" by William Wordsworth and "London" by William Blake. William Blake and William Wordsworth were both romantic poets. This did and does not mean that they wrote poems about love but romanticism emphasized the individual, the subjective, the irrational, the imaginative, the personal, the spontaneous, the emotional, the visionary, and the transcendental. …'London'. In conclusion although these poems are written in a similar era, they are written by two very different poets living very different lives. Although Wordsworth and Blake may have had similar political views -such as the French revolution- ultimately these two poems are extremely different. They differ in poetic form, in perspective (utopia and hell), and in focus (people and place). One would not perhaps recognize that they were writing about the same city.
