There is a great interest in Biodiesel and research continues. Biodiesel research and development projects are ongoing under the Department of Energy in the Alternative Fuels Utilization Program and under the Department of Agriculture in the Alternative Agricultural Research and Commercialization Center and the Agricultural Research Service. Additionally, the USDA, the Department of Defense, and the DOE provide some special grant money to biofuels research projects, several of them for biodiesel.
