Basic values of democracy

A democracy is a system of government in which supreme authority rests with the people. The word democracy all started when Abraham Lincoln gave the Gettysburg address to the nation. The Gettysburg address was "government of the people, by the people, for the people". A democracy can be in a direct or indirect form. …and righteous president. The foundations of democracy are what makes democracy so strong. The sum up of the 5 are that that every person is worth a lot, and the people should respected by all people and not judged by race, a faith in majority rule and minority rights, compromise, and individual freedom. These reasons are why I believe a democracy should be brought up again and shown to the world more than it is now.
