Are you convinced by Mill's attempt to draw a qualitative distinction between pleasures?

In Mill's Utilitarianism, he moves away from the traditional Benthamite argument which measures all types of pleasure in the same way, to stating that some pleasures are of higher value and therefore should be preferred over the so-called 'lower' pleasures when making ethical decisions. I think that Mill appears to justify his idea well in how it conforms to utilitarianism, and whilst people do tend to hold some pleasures higher than others, these views vary so widely that it seems to go against the idea of utilitarianism to say that 'mental' pleasures should always be preferred.
