Wisconsin
The first settlers of Wisconsin were the Native Americans, who arrived over 10,000 years ago. At the time of statehood there were a total of four different Indian tribes that made the western great lakes their home. Fur trading is what attracted the first Europeans to Wisconsin in the 17th century.
