Ones own subconscious mind could create emotions that can persuade one to do deeds in which he/she never thought of. Either it be good or bad like the narrators feelings towards the old man’s eye. Emotions are those not to be put aside or forgotten about. But should be dealt with and conditioned to a norm. Mind over matter.
