Goodman appeals to his intended student audience also by using words such as “master,” “overseer,” and “lord” to refer to teachers. By doing this, he makes his concept to abolish grading seem like less of an education reform concept and more of a rebellion of the oppressed against the oppressors. Paul Goodman demonizes the education community in his essay in order to make his point seem more justifiable.
