Arthur Brown was officially credited with the victory but evidence suggests the Baron was hit by a single bullet from a machine gun in the trenches. Manfred was buried in France with full military honors, but his body was later moved to a family cemetery in Wiesbaden. The Red Baron gained the respect of all he flew with and the enemies he chased after.
