This piece was created during world war II, this was the major influence for the style and representation of the women. The distorted image represents his feelings of being trapped. Paris was a uncomfortable place during the war. Pablo expressed his sorrow for the lost soldiers, and his rage against the war. Pablo was very much against the war, he wanted peace.
