Even though some characters are mean and evil at heart, compassion is still felt and makes the reader wonder why they are like this. What external factors have turned this character this way, with so much hate (e.g. Bryant)? These two pieces of literature will keep the reader wanting more and wanting to experience what these novels give, anxiety and reflections.
