This is a distressing story that Faulkner has written. It strongly depicts the hard ships that an individual who has had so much loss is led to deal with all of her pain. Is it the right way or the wrong way? Of course it would be looked at as wrong by most people, but she just needed some kind of release and this was where she found it.
