The Nazism was not social revolution but social reaction of the worse kind since it reinforced traditional class alignment and destroyed the racially undesirable. Volksgemeinschaft was on the whole mealy a propaganda gimmick as in reality propaganda and severe repression concealed deep social divisions and sources of serious discontent. The significantly modified nature of the Nazi social revolution prevented the realisation of many of its aims.
