Arsenic from water can be removed in several ways. The most widely used method of removable is activated alumina. In this process, drinking water is passed over aluminum oxide onto a surface where arsenic is adsorbed. Other processes of removal include anion exchange, reverse osmosis, and precipitating the arsenic as an insoluble salt (ie. Reaction with ferric ion, Fe3+).
