It should be clear by now that the pottery tells of the Mochica achievement. There were plain pots for every day, but the decorated pottery is undoubtedly of great importance to the Mochica. Unfortunately, we are not able to tell whether men or women were potters. In their jars, painted with scenes of everyday life, and their figure-modeled portrait jars they revealed fantasy and humor and achieved an astonishing fidelity to human forms.
