…with the seclusion and isolation in the musty yellow wallpapered room, the reader is introduced to a very mentally, socially and physically disturbed being. Had the narrator been placed in a different room without damaged wallpaper, maybe then her psychosis would have panned out a little differently, but for now, readers know that several other factors such as the location, the condition of the room, and the presence of others, all added to her madness.
