Meursault ,the main character in Albert Camus’ The Stranger, is both a round character and a static character. Although he does not seem to be well developed, the reader does learn a lot about this character. He is dull and does not show any emotion to situations that would oppress, please, or scare other people. He does, however, say what is in his mind. He will answer questions that are asked

make her stop asking. Meursault later kills an Arab and is sent to jail for eleven months to stand trial. A judge asks him if he was sorry for what he did. In response he says, “ I thought for a minute and said that more than sorry I felt annoyed. Again he shows no emotion towards his actions. There is no guilt or burden in knowing that he took a life for no apparent reason.
