the U.S.A had equal victories. The Soviets had many more “firsts” than the Americans but the Americans proved that they could keep up in the race, even after having a late start. The United States proved that they were above the competition. Though there were some lives lost along the way the U.S proved that they could conquer their failures and even their fear by putting the FIRST man on the moon.
