Many times we assume that the thoughts we have are correct for no other reason than the fact that they occurred to us. We often think that we are right even when we are wrong. We frequently do not recognize the illogical tendencies in ourselves and those around us. Critical questions like the preceding help make decisions pertaining to my duties of plan preparation, design and producing contract plans and reports for the construction of highways and bridges easier. Throughout college and beyond, we will be expected to think critically in order to make appropriate decisions. Practicing critical thinking will help us to better understand the limits of knowledge and rethink conclusions in the light of new knowledge when making decisions.
