Many of us accept the image of idealized heroes, but they are a product of mass media and values gone awry. When one looks deeper, one finds more. Heroes are among us, yet we don't always see them. My aunt's life was a difficult one, yet she made a conscious decision how she wanted to experience it. Her legacy to us can not be measured. She quietly taught us how to live our difficult days in grace, keep our values and never give up hope. She was the hero among us.
