Archetypes have many different characteristics that are usually used in novels you read everyday but probably do not notice them. There are three different categories: situational, character, and symbolic. In The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, you have the journey, the mentors, and innate wisdom vs. educated stupidity types of archetypes is expressed.

In In Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkien, you have the journey, the mentors, and the innate wisdom vs. educated stupidity archetypes expressed. All of these are shown in the story by different characters and situations. The journey is for the search for gold, the mentors are the dwarfs (Bilbo’s teachers), and the innate wisdom is Gandalf vs. educated stupidity (meaning Baggins).
