As can be seen there are quite a few symbols in the play "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams. I am sure that there are others, but these alone are enough to see that Tennessee Williams was very big on symbolism, at least in this writing. They certainly give the reader a much better understanding of the characters in the play, and they also give us more insight into how these characters feel.
