son. When Holden is interacting with people he is almost always nice no matter how much he dislikes them. When Holden is thinking about people or having a memory of someone it is almost always that he hates them. For example, with Sally, he is always nice to her except that one time when he yelled at her. But when he is thinking of her, he says he hates her and that she annoys him.
