Terrence Malick’s film, Badlands, is a film dealing with “blurred boundaries.” Malick’s film is based on real life characters and true events that took place in 1958. I must say that throughout the movie, the two main characters, Holly and Kit, grew together yet apart at the same time. Both of them found themselves crossing boundaries and pushing them away. It is as if the child never seemed to grow out of them. However,

Malick intended for his viewers to feel a twinge of pain for Holly as she let her life fall apart for Kit and anger for Kit as he became a destructive monster. Society needed this jolt then in 1958, the same as they do now, forty-one years later. Malick should be praised for giving us the chance to know itd as viewers of the film, Badlands.
