Kane missed the life that he had in the country. To me it seemed as though Kane was depressed; and everything he would buy or try to do to fill the whole in his heart just never worked out. Although Kane was conquered by money (as so many people are), deep down inside it seemed as though he wished he could take his life back and never leave his mother and his small quiet home.
